Cast Description
EURYDICE: LEAD (F, Early 20’s)
A bright, curious young woman whose love for Orpheus is genuine but complicated by her desire for knowledge, memory, and a sense of self. Her journey in the Underworld highlights her longing for connection — especially with her father — as well as her struggle to define her own identity.
HER FATHER: LEAD (M, 30-50)
Eurydice’s Father is a gentle, patient, and deeply loving figure who exists in the Underworld with his memories intact. He represents warmth, wisdom, and emotional grounding; serving as a guide for Eurydice as she relearns who she is.
ORPHEUS: LEAD (M, Early 20’s)
Orpheus is a devoted and passionate young musician whose life revolves around his art. He deeply loves Eurydice, but his single-minded focus on music sometimes makes it hard for him to connect with her emotional needs. Actor must be able to sing, being able to play an instrument is a plus.
A NASTY INTERESTING MAN/ THE LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD: SUPPORTING (M, 25+)
The Nasty Interesting Man, who later appears as the Lord of the Underworld, is a creepy, manipulative figure who delights in discomfort and chaos. He embodies temptation, danger, and childish cruelty, shifting from unsettling charm to grotesque immaturity.
A CHORUS OF STONES: ENSEMBLE (Any age, sexuality, gender, any and all special skills are invited. Very movement heavy chorus)
BIG STONE:
Grounded, solemn, and slightly intimidating presence. They often serves as the voice of reason or authority among the stones, helping to guide or comment on the events of the Underworld
LITTLE STONE:
Smallest and most playful of the Chorus of Stones. They often bring humor, curiosity, and a mischievous energy to the Underworld, contrasting with the seriousness of Big Stone.
